Allow yourself to notice how your energy is affected by the natural world. Notice what happens to the air around you, to the light around you in the presence of birdsong. Notice the difference in sensation as you walk in the presence of trees. Become aware of the shift in your energies with the scents of the forest -- the sweet scent of poplar, the rich scent of cedar. Notice how the presence of an abundance of wild things holds you, includes you.

An awareness of how the trill of a sparrow tickles your energy field, how the calmness of cedar soothes your emotions and how the trickle of a stream or the brush of a breeze move and change the contents of your energy field helps bring you into a more profound sense of your place, your origins and your destiny.

Paying attention to life can tell you all you need to know about life. Develop an awareness to the seasons around you: the seasons of nature, of people, of events, of circumstances. See the changes as a dance of movement in relationship with you and in relationship to every other thing. To move into awareness is to move into the essence of life itself. As you breathe the seasons and know them without thinking, of all that happens around you, you dance life. We are Cedar.

Although you may notice certain aspects of nature as you walk by and you may hear us as we whisper to you in the evening, understand it is all the other aspects of nature that surround us - the trees that are farther from the path, the water, the air, the wind, the insects, the earth that provide you with the depth of feeling you experience in places like these. Alone, we have a rich and beautiful song. With all that surrounds us, our song becomes a symphony. Come to us then, with gratitude and welcoming, and include as well, all the elements seen and unseen that make up this symphony you call conversation. We are Cedar Tree.

We scatter our seeds with great abandon, fulfilling our need to express who we are. We do not rejoice if these seeds find fertile ground and grow. Nor do we weep for the times that they do not. If the conditions are right and the timing is right and the place is right, then our expression will continue in physical reality. It is the joy of our expression, whether in physical or not in physical that brings us a fulfilment of who we are.

So look then, to your own lives, and know that your joy and your fulfilment come from your expression, not from a need to continue your expression in a particular way. Allow yourselves to be filled with the joy of creative expression, to be filled with the life of opportunity and know that this is who you are. We are Cedar. Be like us.

To take a walk in the woods for the sheer pleasure of being in the company of trees and the other wildlife there is to sing your song of love. To work at something you truly love to do, for the sheer pleasure of doing it, is to be fully in the energy of your own being.

You may have deadlines to meet, schedules to keep and responsibilities to uphold, but within that framework, you can love to make the words in your memo the perfect words to describe what's in your heart. You can make that trip to the store one of pleasure and laughter and discovery.

Listen to what your heart calls for you to do. It is your best master. If you are afraid to skip because you fear you will look foolish, who is your master? There is a time and a way for you to follow your own heart and still make your own way within the framework of your life. How does it call to you? Listen. And then live your own song.

Even when you live in the deepest recesses of city and have rarely an opportunity to even see a tree, you can connect with Nature in very real and practical ways.

Look at the materials around you. They carry the energies of their origins as well as the energies of the manufacturing process, the energies of the people who have used them and carried them, and the energies of their current circumstances.

Is that desk made of Oak? Is a part of it made of Oak? If so, you can tap in to the endurance, the power and the ancient wisdom of Oak. Steel gets its origin in Iron. When you use a tool that is made of steel, you can look deeply into the origin of this tool and feel the energy of Iron that has allowed itself to be transformed into this new state. Look to the form and structure of the tools, projects and objects that you have created in this world. Notice how many of them are designed in a similar fashion to designs of the Natural World.

You honour flight when you create an airplane. You honour communication when you create a world-wide electronic network. You honour any of us when you use our patterns, our growth and our materials in a way that honours us, respects us and allows our unique energies to enhance your life. You enhance us as we enhance you.

There is a balance to be found of your use of what you find in Nature and your honouring its need to be as it is. In your hearts you know where that balance is.

So allow yourself to seek the Oak in a desk, the energies of Iron in a tool, the patterns of Nature in your structures and the qualities of Nature in your relationships and activities and you honour us as we honour you by providing these things.
